Collaborating with other institutions will be an important focus of Crystal Bridges,
even before the museum opens. Currently, several works from the Crystal Bridges
permanent collection have been or are currently on loan at various museums throughout
the United States including:
- Philadelphia Museum of Art - Thomas Eakins' portrait of Professor Benjamin Howard
Rand is currently on loan to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
- The Jewish Museum - Currently on view are the portraits of Moses Levy and Franks Children with Bird.
- Museum of Fine Arts Houston - The distinctive painting George Washington
(The Constable-Hamilton Portrait) by the American painter Gilbert Stuart is currently
on view at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
- Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City – Kindred Spirits by Asher B. Durand
is currently on loan through May 2009 in the Met’s newly re-designed Mid-Nineteenth-Century
Decorative Arts Gallery.
- National Gallery of Art- The Indian and the Lily by George de Forest Brush on view as part of the
George de Forest Brush: The Indian Paintings exhibition, September 14, 2008- January 4, 2009
- Amon Carter Museum- Robert Louis Stevenson and His Wife by John Singer Sargent is currently on view.
